Removal








AXLE: STEERING KNUCKLE: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
2. SEPARATE FRONT SPEED SENSOR (for 2WD) Removal
3. SEPARATE FRONT SPEED SENSOR (for 4WD) Removal
4. SEPARATE FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) Removal
5. SEPARATE FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) Removal
6. REMOVE FRONT DISC Disassembly
7. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB NUT (for 4WD) Removal
8. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) Removal
9. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) Removal
10. SEPARATE FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY (for 2WD)





(a) Remove the 2 bolts and steering knuckle from the lower ball joint.
11. SEPARATE FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)





(a) Remove the 2 bolts and steering knuckle from the lower ball joint.
12. SEPARATE TIE ROD ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)





(a) Remove the clip and nut.





(b) Using SST, separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle.
SST: 09628-00011
- Use caution not to damage the steering knuckle because it is made of aluminum and may be damaged easily.
- Do not damage the ball joint dust cover.
- Make sure that the SST is securely positioned on the steering knuckle spacer.
- If the steering knuckle spacer has come off, replace the steering knuckle with a new one.
- Make sure that the string of the SST is securely tied to the vehicle.

13. REMOVE STEERING KNUCKLE





(a) Remove the clip and nut.





(b) Using SST, remove the steering knuckle from the upper suspension arm.
SST: 09628-00011
- Use caution not to damage the steering knuckle because it is made of aluminum and may be damaged easily.
- Do not damage the ball joint dust cover.
- Make sure that the SST is securely positioned on the steering knuckle spacer.
- If the steering knuckle spacer has come off, replace the steering knuckle with a new one.
- Make sure that the string of the SST is securely tied to the vehicle.
