Wireless Transmitter Memory Function does not Operate
DESCRIPTION
When a seat memory switch (M1, M2 or M3) is pressed while the transmitter's LOCK or UNLOCK switch, or the door lock control switch's lock or unlock switch, is pressed and held with the engine switch off and the driver door closed, the transmitter's recognition code is registered into the pressed seat memory switch. After the registration is complete, the answer-back buzzer sounds.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL FUNCTIONS
(a) Using the standard operation procedure, check that the wireless door lock / unlock operates normally.
OK:
Wireless door lock / unlock operates normally.
HINT: The standard operating procedure is as follows:
Hold the transmitter approximately 1 m (3.28 ft.) from the driver door outside handle. Press and hold the transmitter's LOCK or UNLOCK switch for 1 second.
NG -- GO TO WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL FUNCTION
(a) Using the standard operation procedure, check that the power door lock / unlock operates normally.
OK:
Power door lock / unlock operates normally.
NG -- GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK SEAT MEMORY SWITCH FUNCTION (SEAT POSITION MEMORY FUNCTION)
(a) Perform a memory operation correctly. Check that the buzzer sounds to indicate the completion of the memory operation.
NOTICE:
- The seat position will not be recorded if the SET switch and 2 or more of the memory switches (for example, M1 and M2) are pressed simultaneously.
- The seat position will not be recorded if a memory switch (M1, M2 or M3) is not pressed within 3 seconds of pressing the SET switch.
- If a memorizing operation has failed, release all the switches. The seat memory function does not operate unless the switches are released.
OK:
Seat memory switch function operates normally.
NG -- GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Problem Symptoms Table
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK MEMORY CALL FUNCTION (REGISTER RECOGNITION CODE)
(a) While pressing the M1, M2 or M3 switch, press the transmitter's LOCK or UNLOCK switch or press the door lock control switch's lock or unlock switch. Then check that the buzzer sounds normally.
OK:
Buzzer sounds normally.
NG -- REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH
OK -- SYSTEM IS OK
