Odo/Trip Switch Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The meter CPU receives signals for changing the ODO/TRIP meter from this circuit.
HINT: The whole light control rheostat should be replaced if the ODO/TRIP switch has a malfunction because the ODO/TRIP switch is not available separately.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT: Start the inspection from step 1 when using the Techstream and start from step 2 when not using the Techstream.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ODO/TRIP CHANGE SW)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
(e) Check the values by referring to the table below.

Combination Meter:





OK:
Switch condition (ON/OFF) can be switched by actual operation.
NG -- INSPECT ODO/TRIP SWITCH
OK -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
2. INSPECT ODO/TRIP SWITCH




(a) Remove the ODO/TRIP switch.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - ODO/TRIP SWITCH)




(a) Disconnect the C9 and R6 connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
