Installation








AXLE: REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING (for 4WD): INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB & BEARING ASSEMBLY LH





(a) Install the rear axle hub & bearing assembly LH with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 75 Nm (765 kgf-cm, 55ft-lbf)
2. INSPECT BEARING BACKLASH Rear Axle Hub and Bearing
3. INSPECT AXLE HUB DEVIATION Rear Axle Hub and Bearing
4. INSTALL REAR DISC
5. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH





(a) Install the rear disc brake caliper assembly LH with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 78 Nm (800 kgf-cm, 58ft-lbf)
(b) Install the flexible hose with the bolt to the shock absorber.
Torque: 19 Nm (192 kgf-cm, 14ft-lbf)
6. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT LH NUT
(a) Clean the threaded parts on the rear drive shaft assembly and rear axle shaft nut using a non-residue solvent.
NOTICE:
- Be sure to perform this work for a new rear drive shaft assembly.
- Keep the threaded parts free of oil and foreign objects.





(b) Install a new axle shaft LH nut.
Torque: 294 Nm (3,000 kgf-cm, 217ft-lbf)
(c) Using a chisel and hammer, stake the axle shaft LH nut.
7. INSTALL SPEED SENSOR REAR LH
(a) Install the speed sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71in-lbf)
NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the speed sensor.
- Prevent foreign matter from adhering to the speed sensor.
- Do not twist the sensor wire when installing the sensor.

8. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76ft-lbf)
9. ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT
(a) Inspect rear wheel alignment Rear Wheel Alignment.
10. ADJUST HEADLIGHT AIM ONLY

11. CHECK ABS SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
(a) Check ABS speed sensor signal Test Mode Procedure.
