CAN Main Bus Line For Disconnection
CAN COMMUNICATION: CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM: CAN Main Bus Line for Disconnection
CAN Main Bus Line for Disconnection
DESCRIPTION
The CAN main bus wire must be disconnected when the resistance between terminals 6 (CANH) and 14 (CANL) of the DLC3 is more than 69 Ohms.
WIRING DIAGRAM
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT: Identify the connector to be checked by its color of the wire and shape of the junction on the CAN J/C because the locations of the connectors to the CAN J/C are confusing.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK DLC3
(a) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Result:
B -- REPAIR OR REPLACE DLC3 BRANCH WIRE OR CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L)
A -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR (CAN J/C1)
(a) Disconnect the CAN main bus wire connector (J27) from the wiring harness connector (CAN J/C1).
- When disconnecting, check the location of each connector.
- When connecting, make sure that each connector is connected properly.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR (CAN J/C1)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR (CAN J/C2)
(a) Reconnect the CAN main bus wire connector (J27) to the wiring harness connector (CAN J/C1).
(b) Disconnect the CAN main bus wire connector (J43) from the wiring harness connector (CAN J/C2).
- When disconnecting, check the location of each connector.
- When connecting, make sure that each connector is connected properly.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR (CAN J/C2)
OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BUS MAIN WIRE OR CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L)
