B1852
SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: B1850/62-B1853/62: Short in Rear Side Squib RH Circuit
B1853/62 - Short to B+ in Rear Side Squib RH Circuit
DESCRIPTION
The rear side squib RH circuit consists of the center airbag sensor and the rear seat airbag RH.
This circuit instructs the SRS to deploy when deployment conditions are met.
These DTCs are recorded when a malfunction is detected in the rear side squib RH circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT
* Change the Techstream to the "check mode" (signal check) Check Mode Procedure.
* After selecting the "check mode" (signal check), perform the simulation method by wiggling each connector of the airbag system or driving the vehicle on various types of roads Check Mode Procedure.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK REAR SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY RH (REAR SIDE SQUIB RH)
(a) Turn the power switch OFF.
(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c) Disconnect the connector from the rear seat airbag RH.
(d) Connect SST (resistance 2.1 Ohms) to connector "C".
CAUTION:
Never connect a tester to the rear seat airbag RH (Rear side squib RH) for measurement, as this may lead to a serious injury due to airbag deployment.
NOTICE:
* Do not forcibly insert the SST into the terminals of the connector when connecting.
* Insert straight the SST into the terminals of the connector.
SST : 09843-18061
(e) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
(f) Turn the power switch ON (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
(g) Clear the DTCs stored in memory DTC Check / Clear.
(h) Turn the power switch OFF.
(i) Turn the power switch ON (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
(j) Check the DTCs DTC Check / Clear.
OK:
DTC B1850, B1851, B1852, B1853 or 62 is not output.
HINT
Codes other than DTC B1850, B1851, B1852, B1853 and 62 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.
OK -- REPLACE REAR SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY RH
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK FLOOR WIRE (REAR SIDE SQUIB RH CIRCUIT)
(a) Turn the power switch OFF.
(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c) Disconnect the SST from connector "C".
(d) Disconnect the connectors from the center airbag sensor.
(e) Check the short to B+ in the circuit.
(1) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
(2) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(3) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
(f) Check the open in the circuit.
