B2064 - Vehicle Type Signal Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The seat belt control ECU is connected to the gateway ECU through CAN communication.

The seat belt control ECU receives vehicle model information from the gateway ECU and determines whether the seat belt buckle switch information from the center airbag sensor is for the driver seat or the passenger seat.

DTC B2064 is stored when the CAN communication frame with the gateway ECU is normal and communication is available, but the steering wheel position information is not set or varies.





INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
When the seat belt control ECU is replaced with a new one, Initialization must be performed Pre-Collision System.

PROCEDURE

1. INITIALIZE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU

(a) Initialize the seat belt control ECU Pre-Collision System.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM)

(a) Clear the DTCs Pre-Collision System.

(b) Recheck for DTCs.

OK:

DTC B2064 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE GATEWAY ECU

OK -- CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS (SYMPTOM SIMULATION)

3. REPLACE GATEWAY ECU

(a) Replace the gateway ECU.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM)

(a) Clear the DTCs Pre-Collision System.

(b) Recheck for DTCs.

OK:

DTC B2064 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU

OK -- END
