B2413 - Headlight Swivel Motor RH Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The swivel actuator receives the signal from the AFS ECU to operate and sends the signal regarding the direction of the headlight and condition of the headlight swivel motor to the AFS ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SWIVEL MOTOR)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch ON (IG) and turn the Techstream on.

(c) Select the item below in the ACTIVE TEST and then check that the motor operates.

AFS (AFS ECU)





OK:

Swivel actuator operates.

Result





C -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

B -- REPLACE AFS ECU
A -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the B11 and B2 headlight connectors.





(b) Measure the resistance of the connector.

Standard resistance:

for LH (B2412)





for RH (B2413)





HINT
Measure the resistance after the headlight has cooled.

NG -- REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (HEADLIGHT - ECU)

(a) Disconnect the A28 ECU connector.





(b) Disconnect the B11 and B2 headlight connectors.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:

for LH (B2412)





for RH (B2413)





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK AFS ECU





(a) Disconnect the B11 and B2 headlight connectors.

(b) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

Standard voltage:

for LH (B2412)





for RH (B2413)





Result





C -- REPLACE AFS ECU

B -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
A -- Continue to next step.

5. REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY

(a) Temporarily replace the headlight with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check that the headlight operates.

OK:

Headlight operates normally.

NG -- REPLACE AFS ECU

OK -- END
