C2179/79 - Tire Pressure Monitor ECU Communication Stop
DESCRIPTION
The tire pressure warning ECU receives speed signals from the combination meter via multiplex communication.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
- When replacing the tire pressure warning ECU, read the transmitter IDs stored in the old ECU using the Techstream and write them down before removal.
- It is necessary to perform the initialization Initialization after the registration Registration of the transmitter IDs into the tire pressure warning ECU if the ECU has been replaced.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK DTC (MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)
(a) Check for DTCs Multiplex Communication System.
OK:
DTC is not output.
NG -- GO TO MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM How to Proceed With Troubleshooting
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL (DATA LIST)
(a) Turn the power switch off.
(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(c) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(d) Turn the Techstream on.
(e) Check that the values indicated on the Techstream and on the combination meter are the same. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Tire Pressure Monitor / Data List.
Tire Pressure Monitor:
OK:
The vehicle speed displayed on the Techstream changes depending on the actual vehicle speed.
NG -- GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. PERFORM SIGNAL CHECK (VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL)
(a) Enter the signal check mode in TEST MODE PROCEDURE Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.
(b) Drive the vehicle at 20 km/h (12 mph) or more for 3 seconds to erase DTC C2191/91.
(c) Check the test mode DTCs.
