PARK ASSIST / MONITORING: SIDE MONITOR SYSTEM: C1683,C1684: Side Camera Feedback Malfunction


DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored if the parking assist ECU judges as a result of its self check that a synchronization problem is occurring in the image signal sent from the passenger side television camera assembly to the parking assist ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Depending on the parts that are replaced or operations that are performed during vehicle inspection or maintenance, calibration of other systems as well as the side monitor system may be needed Side Monitor System.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Side Monitor System.

(b) Check for DTCs Side Monitor System.

2. CHECK PARKING ASSIST ECU

(a) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY

(a) Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform.

OK:

Waveform is as shown in illustration.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARKING ASSIST ECU - OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY)

OK -- REPLACE PARKING ASSIST ECU Removal

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARKING ASSIST ECU - OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the I2 parking assist ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the J2 front passenger outer rear view mirror assembly connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. REPLACE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY

(a) Replace the front passenger side television camera assembly with a new or normally functioning one Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Side Monitor System.

(b) Check for DTCs Side Monitor System.
