INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(b) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC B2416 or B241A output does not occur.
NG -- CHECK VEHICLE EQUIPMENT
OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
1. CHECK VEHICLE EQUIPMENT
(a) Check the vehicle equipment.
Result
B -- CHECK FOR DTC (AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM)
A -- Continue to next step.
2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR)
(a) Using the Techstream, read the Data List Data List / Active Test.
AFS
OK:
Normal conditions listed above are displayed.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY - REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH)
OK -- REPLACE HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY
1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY - REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH)
(a) Disconnect the A46 headlight swivel ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the S2 rear height control sensor connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
(a) Remove the rear height control sensor Removal.
Text in Illustration
(b) Connect 3 dry cell batteries (1.5 V) in series.
(c) Connect the positive (+) end of the batteries to terminal 1 (SHB) of the height control sensor and the negative (-) end of the batteries to terminal 3 (SHG). While slowly moving the sensor link up and down, measure the voltage between terminal 2 (SHRR) and terminal 3 (SHG).
Standard Voltage:
NOTICE:
Do not apply a voltage of 5 V or higher.
NG -- REPLACE REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH Removal
OK -- REPLACE HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY
3. CHECK FOR DTC (AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM)
(a) Check for DTCs Air Suspension System.
OK:
DTC "C1712 Front Height Control Sensor LH Circuit Malfunction" and "C1714 Rear Height Control Sensor LH Circuit Malfunction" are not output.
NG -- GO TO AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM Air Suspension System
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (AFS)
(a) Using the Techstream, read the Data List Data List / Active Test.
AFS
OK:
Normal conditions listed above are displayed.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY - SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU)
OK -- REPLACE HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY - SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU)
(a) Disconnect the A46 headlight swivel ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the A11 and R22 suspension control ECU connectors.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU (OPERATION)
(a) Temporarily replace the suspension control ECU with a new or normally functioning one Removal.
(b) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC B2416 or B241A output does not occur.
NG -- REPLACE HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY
OK -- END (REPLACE SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU) Removal
