PRE-COLLISION: PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM: DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM

1. INITIAL CHECK

(a) 2 seconds or more after turning the engine switch off, turning the engine switch on (IG) causes the pre-collision system to perform an initial check for approximately 3 seconds.

(b) If a malfunction is detected in the initial check, after the 3 second initial check, the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly displays "CHECK PCS SYSTEM".

HINT
"CHECK PCS SYSTEM" is displayed when a pre-collision system malfunction has been detected and a DTC is stored.

2. CONSTANT CHECK

(a) After the 3 second initial check, the seat belt control ECU and driving support ECU control the system and perform a constant check to monitor the system.

(b) If a malfunction is detected in the constant check, the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly displays "CHECK PCS SYSTEM" or "PCS TEMPORARILY NOT AVAILABLE".

HINT
"PCS TEMPORARILY NOT AVAILABLE" is displayed during the following conditions: 1) the seat belt control ECU overheating prevention function has operated; 2) due to bad weather, the radar cannot detect obstacles; or 3) foreign matter is attached to the grille cover or millimeter wave radar sensor assembly.
