EXTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: ROOF RACK: INSTALLATION

HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
1. INSTALL NO. 2 ROOF CARRIER SEAL

HINT
* Use the same procedure for all No. 2 roof carrier seals.
* When installing the No. 2 roof carrier seal, heat the roof rack assembly surface using a heat light.

Standard:





NOTICE:
Do not heat the roof rack assembly excessively.

(a) Clean the roof rack assembly surface.

(1) Using a heat light, heat the roof rack assembly surface.

(2) Remove the double-sided tape from the roof rack assembly surface.

(3) Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

(b) Install a new No. 2 roof carrier seal.

(1) Remove the peeling paper from the face of a new No. 2 roof carrier seal.

HINT
After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

(2) Install the 6 No. 2 roof carrier seals.

HINT
Press the No. 2 roof carrier seal firmly to install it.

2. INSTALL ROOF RACK ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Clean the threads of the bolts with non-residue solvent (when reusing the bolts).

(b) Apply adhesive to the threads of the bolts (when reusing the bolts).

Adhesive:

Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent

(c) Install the roof rack with the 6 bolts.

Torque : 31 Nm (316 kgf-cm, 23 ft-lbf)

3. INSTALL NO. 1 ROOF SIDE GARNISH LID LH

HINT
Use the same procedure for all No. 1 roof side garnish lids.

(a) Attach the 2 guides and 2 claws to install the No. 1 roof side garnish lid.
