DESCRIPTION

w/o Navigation system:

The combination meter detects the state of the front seat inner belt RH when the front passenger seat is occupied with the engine switch on (IG). If the front passenger seat belt is not fastened, the front seat belt warning light on the integration control and panel blinks. If the seat belt is fastened, the warning light goes off.

w/ Navigation system:

The combination meter detects the state of the front seat inner belt RH when the front passenger seat is occupied with the engine switch on (IG). If the front passenger seat belt is not fastened, the front seat belt warning light on the clock blinks. If the seat belt is fastened, the warning light goes off.

1. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Check for DTCs.

C -- Go to AIRBAG SYSTEM

B -- Go to CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM Service Precautions
A -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT FUSE (ECU-IG)

(a) Remove the ECU-IG fuse from the cowl side junction block RH.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Operate Techstream according to the steps on the display and select "ACTIVE TEST".

*: Confirm that the vehicle is stopped with the engine idling.

B -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLOCK - COMBINATION METER)

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL - COMBINATION METER)

(a) Disconnect the J54 panel connector.





(b) Disconnect the J35 meter connector.

(c) Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

Standard voltage










NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the integration control and panel Removal.

(b) Connect the positive (+) lead to terminal 4 (IG+), and the negative (-) battery lead to terminals 13 (PBEW) and 8 (E).

(c) Check that the passenger seat belt warning light comes on.

OK:

Passenger seat belt warning light comes on.

NG -- REPLACE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY Removal

OK -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLOCK - COMBINATION METER)

(a) Disconnect the J92 clock connector.





(b) Disconnect the J35 meter connector.

(c) Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





Standard Voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK CLOCK ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the J92 clock connector.





(b) Connect the positive (+) lead to terminal 15 (IG+), and the negative (-) battery lead to terminals 12 (PBEW) and 3 (E).

(c) Check that the passenger seat belt warning light comes on.

OK:

Passenger seat belt warning light comes on.

NG -- REPLACE CLOCK ASSEMBLY Removal

OK -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal

8. REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Temporarily replace the front seat inner belt RH with a new or normally functioning one Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

9. CHECK PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT

(a) Check that the passenger seat belt warning light operates normally Seat Belt Warning System (w/ Occupant Classification System).

OK:

Passenger seat belt warning light operates normally.

NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal

OK -- END (FRONT SEAT INNER BELT RH IS DEFECTIVE)
