DESCRIPTION





INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT
After the inspection is completed, clear the DTCs.

PROCEDURE

1. REPLACE USB DEVICE OR "iPod"

(a) Disconnect the USB device or "iPod" from the No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly.

(b) Turn the engine switch off.

HINT
When one of these DTCs has been stored, it is necessary to turn off the engine switch to make it possible for the vehicle to recognize a new device when it is connected.

(c) Turn the engine switch on (ACC).

(d) Connect a known good USB device or "iPod" to the No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly.

HINT
* If the malfunction occurred when a USB device was in use, use another USB device for the inspection. If the malfunction occurred when an "iPod" was in use, use another "iPod" for the inspection.
* Refer to System Description for compatible formats and versions Description and Operation.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.

2. CLEAR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Audio and Visual System (w/o Navigation System).

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

3. RECHECK FOR DTC

(a) Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

HINT
If DTCs are detected frequently, replace the multi-media interface ECU.

OK:

No DTCs are output.

NG -- REPLACE MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU Removal

OK -- USB DEVICE FORMAT WAS INCOMPATIBLE, "iPod" VERSION WAS INCOMPATIBLE, OR USB DEVICE OR "iPod" WAS DEFECTIVE
