DESCRIPTION

Receiving the signal from the tire pressure warning reset switch (satellite switch), the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver indicates the initialization of the tire pressure warning system.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
It is necessary to perform initialization Initialization after registration Registration of the transmitter IDs into the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver if the ECU have been replaced.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK TIRE PRESSURE WARNING RESET SWITCH FUNCTION

(a) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(b) Check that the tire pressure warning light comes on for 3 seconds.

(c) Perform the tire pressure warning reset switch test in the TEST MODE procedure Test Mode Procedure.

OK:

Reset switch ON
Tire pressure warning light comes on.

Reset switch OFF
Tire pressure warning light blinks.

NG -- CHECK SATELLITE SWITCH

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures

2. CHECK SATELLITE SWITCH

(a) Using the satellite switch, check that the switch operates normally in the other modes. (For example: TACH INDICATOR mode)

OK:

The satellite switch operates normally.

NG -- INSPECT SATELLITE SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER)

(a) Disconnect the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver J49 connector and combination meter assembly J34 connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER Removal

4. INSPECT SATELLITE SWITCH

(a) Disconnect the satellite switch J16 connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





HINT
When the tire select switch is faulty, replace the satellite switch and all because the former switch is included in the latter.

NG -- REPLACE SATELLITE SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

(a) Disconnect the satellite switch J16 connector and combination meter assembly J35 connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal
