Installation

BRAKE: REAR BRAKE: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

(a) Install 2 new No. 1 caliper plates to the caliper support bracket.

(b) Install the cylinder assembly rear together with the caliper support bracket with 2 new bolts.

Torque : 65 Nm (663 kgf-cm, 48 ft-lbf)

2. INSTALL NO. 1 REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER SUPPORT PIN

(a) Install the rear cylinder assembly with the cylinder slide pin.

Torque : 25 Nm (250 kgf-cm, 18 ft-lbf)

3. INSTALL ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM KIT REAR (for 2GR-FSE)

(a) Apply disc brake grease to both sides of the 2 anti-squeal shims.

(b) Install the 4 anti-squeal shims to each of the 2 brake pads.

NOTICE:
* When replacing worn pads, the anti-squeal shims must be replaced together with the pads.
* Install the anti-squeal shims in the correct positions and directions.
4. INSTALL ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM (for 4GR-FSE)

(a) Apply disc brake grease to both sides of the 2 No. 1 anti-squeal shim.

(b) Install the 4 anti-squeal shims to each of the 2 brake pads.

NOTICE:
* When replacing worn pads, the anti-squeal shims must be replaced together with the pads.
* Install the anti-squeal shims in the correct positions and directions.
5. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE PAD WITH ANTI-SQUEAL SHIMS

(a) Install the 2 brake pads with the anti-squeal shims to the rear cylinder assembly.

(b) Install the pad guide pin (upper) to the rear cylinder assembly.

(d) Holding the anti-squeal spring, install the pad guide pin (lower) to the rear cylinder assembly.

(e) Engage the pin hold clip to the holes of both pad guide pins, and insert the pin hold clip to the brake pad as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:
Make sure that the claw of the pin hold clip is engaged to the brake pad hole.

(f) Insert the end of the anti-squeal spring to the brake pad hole.

NOTICE:
* Make sure that the anti-squeal spring and pin hold clip are placed as shown in the illustration.
* Make sure that the pin hold clip cannot be removed easily from the pad guide pins.
6. CONNECT REAR LH FLEXIBLE HOSE

(a) Connect the flexible hose with the union bolt and a new gasket.

Torque : 30 Nm (310 kgf-cm, 22 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Install the flexible hose lock securely in the lock hole in the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.

7. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID Service and Repair

8. BLEED BRAKE LINE Service and Repair

9. BLEED BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY Service and Repair

10. INSPECT BRAKE FLUID LEVEL Service and Repair

11. INSPECT FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAK

12. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

Torque : 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
