SEAT: FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY: DISASSEMBLY

CAUTION:
Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.

NOTICE:
If the occupant classification ECU has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace it with a new one.

HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH

(a) Release the rubber bands of the seatback board from the seat adjuster.

(b) Remove the 3 screws.

(c) Detach the 2 claws in the order shown in the illustration, and then remove the cushion shield.

(d) Disconnect the 2 connectors.

2. REMOVE POSITION CONTROL ECU AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 4 screws and position control ECU and switch.

3. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SEAT SHIELD SET BRACKET

(a) Remove the 2 screws and bracket.

4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HINGE COVER LH

(a) Remove the 2 screws and hinge cover.

5. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH

(a) Remove the 4 screws and cushion shield.

6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH Removal

7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER LH

(a) Remove the 3 screws.

(b) Detach the claw and remove the cushion shield.

8. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the 2 screws.

(b) Detach the 2 hooks and remove the seatback board.

(c) Detach the wire harness clamp and disconnect the connector.

9. REMOVE NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the screw and interior illumination light.

10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY LH

(a) w/ Climate Control Seat System:

(1) Detach the 2 claws and remove the air duct.

(2) Remove the 3 screws and disconnect the duct of the climate control blower.

(3) Detach the wire harness clamp and disconnect the 2 connectors.

(4) Detach the 4 claws and disconnect the climate control controller duct.

(5) Detach the wire harness clamp and disconnect the connector.

(b) Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips.

11. REMOVE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL CONTROLLER LH (CUSHION SIDE) (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

(a) Remove the 2 screws and climate control controller.

12. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

NOTICE:
* As the front passenger side seat has an occupant classification system, its front seat cushion assembly cannot be disassembled.
* If replacing the front passenger side seat, replace the front seat set (cushion assembly, occupant classification ECU and 2 nuts).
(a) Detach the hooks.

(b) Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips and seat cushion frame.

13. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

NOTICE:
* As the front passenger side seat has an occupant classification system, its front seat cushion assembly cannot be disassembled.
* If replacing the front passenger side seat, replace the front seat set (cushion assembly, occupant classification ECU and 2 nuts).
(a) Remove the hog rings and seat cushion cover from the seat cushion pad.

14. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the 2 pins and headrest.

NOTICE:
When replacing a deployed active headrest inflator, always replace it together with the headrest.

(b) w/ Retractable Headrest:

Pull up the headrest to remove it.

NOTICE:
As the front seat headrest assembly is tightly fitted to the seat, be careful not to damage the roof headlining or seat when removing the headrest.

15. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT LH

(a) Detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 headrest supports.

16. REMOVE POWER SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY RH (except 5-Passenger with Ottoman)

(a) Disconnect the connector.

(b) Detach the 2 claws and remove the power seat switch.

17. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD

(a) Remove the bolt and detach the seatback cover bracket.

(b) Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips.

(c) Detach the hooks and remove the seatback cover with pad from the seatback frame.

18. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the hog rings and seatback cover from the seatback pad.

19. REMOVE FRONT NO. 5 SEAT SET BRACKET RH (except 5-Passenger with Ottoman)

(a) Remove the 2 screws.

(b) Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clamps and remove the bracket.

20. REMOVE ACTIVE HEADREST INFLATOR Removal

21. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST BRACKET

(a) Detach the wire harness clamp and remove the bracket from the active headrest inflator.

22. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ADJUSTER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the 2 bolts.

(b) Detach the 2 hooks and remove the dynamic damper frame.

(c) Detach the 2 wire harness clamps and disconnect the connector.

(d) Remove the 2 bolts.

(e) Detach the 2 claws and remove the headrest adjuster.

23. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ADJUSTER SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (w/ Retractable Headrest)

(a) Remove the 2 screws and headrest motor from the seatback frame.

(b) Remove the 4 bolts.

(c) Detach the 2 claws and remove the headrest adjuster.

(d) Detach the 2 claws and remove the motor.

(e) Detach the 2 claws and remove the cable.

(f) Remove the 2 screws and headrest stay cover.

24. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK FRAME ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Disconnect the connectors and detach the wire harness clamps.

(b) Remove the 4 bolts and seatback frame.

25. REMOVE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL CONTROLLER LH (BACK SIDE) (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

(a) w/ Lumbar Support Adjuster:

Remove the 2 screws and climate control controller.

(b) w/o Lumbar Support Adjuster:

Pull up the climate control controller to remove it.

26. REMOVE LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH

(a) for Driver Side:

Remove the 4 bolts and 2 lumbar support adjuster motors from the seatback frame.

(b) for Front Passenger Side:

Remove the 2 bolts and lumbar support adjuster motor from the seatback frame.

(c) Detach the 4 clamps and remove the lumbar support adjuster.

27. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH

(a) Remove the screw and reclining adjuster inside cover.

(b) Detach the wire harness clamp.

28. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH

(a) Remove the screw and reclining adjuster inside cover.

29. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LOWER

(a) Remove the 4 nuts and cushion shield lower.

30. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SPRING

(a) Remove the spring.

HINT
Use the same procedure to remove the spring on the other side.

31. REMOVE NO. 1 SEAT CUSHION PLATE

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and seat cushion plate.

32. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SEAT TRAVEL LINK

(a) Remove the bolt and front seat travel link.

33. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SEAT TRAVEL LINK

HINT
Use the same procedures described for the No. 2 seat travel link.

34. REMOVE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

(a) Disconnect the 2 connectors.

(b) Remove the 2 bolts and climate control ECU.

35. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR FILTER (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

(a) Rotate the air filter counterclockwise to detach the 4 claws and remove it.

36. REMOVE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER LH (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

(a) Detach the 4 claws and disconnect the climate control duct.

(b) Detach the 2 wire harness clamps and disconnect the connector.

(c) Remove the 2 bolts and climate control blower.

37. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU (for Front Passenger Side)

NOTICE:
If the occupant classification ECU has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace it with a new one.

(a) Disconnect the connector.

(b) Remove the 2 nuts and occupant classification ECU.

NOTICE:
If replacing the ECU, replace the front seat set (cushion assembly, occupant classification ECU and 2 nuts).

38. REMOVE SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR Removal

39. REMOVE FRONT SEAT WIRE LH

(a) Remove the bolt.

(b) Disconnect the connectors and detach the wire harness clamps and remove the seat wire.
