Reassembly

DOOR / HATCH: FRONT DOOR: REASSEMBLY

HINT
* Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
* The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
1. INSTALL FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH

(a) Attach the 22 clips to install the weatherstrip.

HINT
If clips are damaged during installation, replace them.

2. INSTALL FRONT DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Apply MP grease to the sliding areas of the door check.

(b) Install the door check to the door panel with the 2 nuts.

Torque : 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)

(c) Apply adhesive to the threads of the bolt.

Adhesive:

Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent

(d) Install the bolt.

Torque : 27 Nm (275 kgf-cm, 20 ft-lbf)

3. INSTALL FRONT DOOR CHECK COVER LH

(a) Install the door check cover.

4. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 DOOR STIFFENER CUSHION

(a) Clean the installation surface.

(1) Using a heat light, heat the installation surface.

HINT
When installing the door stiffener cushion, heat the vehicle body using a heat light.

Standard:

NOTICE:
Do not heat the door stiffener cushion and vehicle body excessively.

(2) Remove the double-sided tape from the installation surface.

(3) Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

(b) Install a new door stiffener cushion.

(1) Using a heat light, heat a new door stiffener cushion and the installation surface.

HINT
When installing the door stiffener cushion, heat the vehicle body and door stiffener cushion using a heat light.

Standard:

NOTICE:
Do not heat the door stiffener cushion and vehicle body excessively.

(2) Remove the peeling paper from the face of the door stiffener cushion.

HINT
After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

(3) Attach the 2 clamps and double-sided tape to install the door stiffener cushion.

HINT
Press the door stiffener cushion firmly to install it.

(4) Install the 2 bolts.

5. INSTALL DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR

(a) Install the door electrical key oscillator with the screw.

6. INSTALL FRONT DOOR LOCK OPEN ROD LH

(a) Install the front door lock open rod as shown in the illustration.

7. INSTALL NO. 2 ELECTRICAL KEY WIRE HARNESS

(a) Connect the connector.

(b) Attach the 3 clamps to install the wire harness to the frame.

8. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Attach the 2 claws to install the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly.

(b) Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, tighten the screw.

Torque : 4.0 Nm (41 kgf-cm, 35 in-lbf)

NOTICE:
A cover should be inserted between the screw and door panel.

9. INSTALL FRONT DOOR INSIDE LOCKING CABLE ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Install the front door inside locking cable.

(b) Attach the 3 claws.

10. INSTALL FRONT DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Install the front door lock remote control cable.

11. INSTALL FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Apply MP grease to the sliding parts of the front door lock assembly.

(b) Insert the front door lock open rod into the front door lock assembly.

(c) Make sure that the front door lock open rod is securely connected to the front door lock assembly.

(d) Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, install the door lock with the 3 screws.

Torque : 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)

12. INSTALL FRONT DOOR REAR OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD LH

(a) Attach the 2 claws to install the pad.

13. INSTALL FRONT DOOR FRONT OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD LH

(a) Attach the 3 claws to install the pad.

14. INSTALL FRONT DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY OUTSIDE LH

(a) Pull and hold the bell crank lever of the frame.

(b) Install the handle by pushing it in the direction of the arrow in the illustration.

(c) Using a T30 "TORX" socket, tighten the screw.

(d) Connect the connector.

15. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER LH

(a) Attach the 2 claws to install the front door outside handle cover to the front door lock cylinder.

(b) Using a T30 "TORX" socket, install the cover (with the door lock cylinder) with the screw.

Torque : 4.0 Nm (41 kgf-cm, 35 in-lbf)

(c) Install the hole plug.

16. INSTALL FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Apply MP grease to the sliding and rotating areas of the regulator motor.

(b) Using a T25 "TORX" driver, install the motor with the 3 screws.

Torque : 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)

HINT
A new front window regulator uses self-tapping screws to thread new installation holes when the self-tapping screws are inserted.

17. INSTALL FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Apply MP grease to the sliding and rotating areas of the window regulator.

NOTICE:
Do not apply grease to the spring of the window regulator.

(b) Temporarily install the temporary bolt onto the window regulator.

(c) Insert the window regulator into the door panel. Use the temporary bolt to hang the window regulator on the door panel.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to drop the window regulator as it may become damaged.

(d) Temporarily install the window regulator with the 5 bolts.

(e) Tighten the 6 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

Torque : 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)

18. INSTALL FRONT DOOR REAR WINDOW FRAME MOULDING LH

19. INSTALL FRONT DOOR BELT MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

20. INSTALL LOWER DOOR FRAME GARNISH LH

(a) Attach the clip to install a new door frame garnish.

21. INSTALL FRONT DOOR REAR LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Install the frame with the bolt.

22. INSTALL FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN LH

(a) Install the front door glass run.

23. INSTALL FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Insert the door glass into the door panel along the glass run as indicated by the arrows in the illustration.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the glass.

(b) Install the door glass to the window regulator with the 2 bolts.

Torque : 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)

24. INSTALL FRONT INNER DOOR GLASS WEATHERSTRIP LH

(a) Attach the 4 claws to install the front inner door glass weatherstrip LH.

25. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

(a) Apply butyl tape to the door.

(b) Pass the front door lock remote control cable and front door inside locking cable through a new front door service hole cover.

NOTICE:
* When installing the service hole cover, pull the links and connectors through the service hole cover.
* There should be no wrinkles or folds after installing the service hole cover.
* After installing the service hole cover, check the sealing quality.
(c) Connect the 2 connectors.

(d) Attach the 7 clamps.

(e) Install the ground wire with the bolt as shown in the illustration.

Torque : 8.4 Nm (86 kgf-cm, 74 in-lbf)

26. INSTALL SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY LH Removal

28. INSTALL DOOR TRIM COVER LH

(a) Attach the 7 clips to install the door trim cover.

29. INSTALL FRONT DOOR PANEL CUSHION

(a) Install the front door panel cushion with the screw.

30. INSTALL OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the 2 connectors.

(b) Install the outer mirror control ECU with the 2 screws.

31. INSTALL OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH Installation

32. INSTALL FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Install the inside handle to the trim board with the 5 screws.

(b) Install the front door armrest assembly to the trim board with the 17 screws.

33. INSTALL SEAT MEMORY SWITCH

(a) Attach the 4 claws to install the seat memory switch.

(b) Attach the 2 claws to install the front door trim ornament LH to front door trim board.

(b) Attach the clamp to install the front door wiring sub-assembly.

35. INSTALL FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH Removal

36. INSTALL COURTESY LIGHT ASSEMBLY Installation

37. INSTALL FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Connect the connector.

(b) Connect the front door lock remote control cable and front door inside locking cable to the front door inside handle sub-assembly.

(d) Install the 2 screws.

38. INSTALL FRONT LOWER DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL LH

(a) Install the front lower door armrest base panel with the 3 screws.

39. INSTALL MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the multiplex network master switch assembly with the 3 screws.

40. INSTALL FRONT UPPER ARMREST BASE PANEL LH

(a) Connect the connector.

(b) Attach the 5 claws to install the front upper armrest base panel.

41. INSTALL FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL PLUG LH

(a) Attach the 3 claws to install the inside handle bezel plug.

42. INSTALL FRONT LOWER DOOR FRAME BRACKET GARNISH LH

(a) Attach the clip and claw to install the front door lower frame bracket garnish.

43. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

44. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT

(a) Check the SRS warning light Diagnosis System.

45. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Installation
