PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE PEDAL: REMOVAL

CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Service Precautions.

1. PRECAUTION (w/ Navigation System for HDD)

NOTICE:
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. PRECAUTION (w/ Air Suspension)

NOTICE:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Suspension Control System.

3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

HINT
Refer to the instructions for Removal of the front seat assembly Removal.

4. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

HINT
Refer to the instructions for Removal of the rear console box Removal.

5. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

HINT
Refer to the instructions for Removal of the driver side knee airbag assembly Removal.

6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL Removal

7. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX Removal

8. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 AIR DUCT

(a) Turn back the front floor carpet.





(b) Remove the clip and rear No. 2 air duct.

9. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 AIR DUCT

(a) Disengage the wire harness clamp.





(b) Remove the rear No. 1 air duct.

10. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR FOOTREST

(a) Disengage the 2 clips to remove the front floor footrest.





11. LOOSEN ADJUSTING NUT

(a) Remove the lock nut and loosen the adjusting nut.

12. REMOVE CENTER FRONT FLOOR COVER

(a) Remove the 4 bolts, 2 screws and nut.





(b) Disengage the 4 clips to remove the center front floor cover.





13. REMOVE REAR ENGINE SERVICE COVER ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and rear engine service cover assembly.





14. SEPARATE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Separate the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake equalizer.





15. SEPARATE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

16. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE EQUALIZER

(a) Slide the rubber boot as shown in the illustration.





(b) Remove the parking brake equalizer from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly as shown in the illustration.





17. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY Removal

18. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts, and separate the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.





(b) Remove the clamp.

(c) Pull out the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly toward the cabin.





(d) Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.





(e) Disengage the 2 clamps to separate the wire harness clamp.





(f) Remove the 3 nuts and parking brake control pedal assembly.
