Removal

A761E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: PARK / NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH: REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR CENTER BRACE

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and floor brace.

3. DISCONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Sensor 2)

(a) Disconnect the sensor Removal.

4. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the front exhaust pipe Removal.

5. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the center exhaust pipe Removal.

6. DISCONNECT FLOOR SHIFT GEAR SHIFTING ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

7. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the park/neutral position switch connector.





(b) Remove the nut and transmission control shaft lever RH.





(c) Using a screwdriver, pry out the lock washer.





(d) Remove the lock nut and lock washer.





(e) Remove the bolt and park/neutral position switch.
