DESCRIPTION

The display and navigation module display receives a reverse signal from the park/neutral position switch assembly and information about the navigation antenna assembly, and then adjusts the vehicle position on the navigation display.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY

(a) Disconnect the E62 display and navigation module display connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY - PNP SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Problem Symptoms Table

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY - PNP SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the E62 display and navigation module display connector.

(b) Disconnect the B36 park/neutral position switch assembly connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BATTERY)

(a) Disconnect the B36 park/neutral position switch assembly connector.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal
