B1449
AIR CONDITIONING: AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM: B1449/49: Rear Air Outlet Damper Control Servo Motor Circuit
B1449/49 - Rear Air Outlet Damper Control Servo Motor Circuit
DESCRIPTION
The rear outlet damper servo (for LH side) sends pulse signals to inform the air conditioning amplifier of the damper position. The air conditioning amplifier activates the motor (normal or reverse) based on these signals to move the rear outlet damper (for LH side) to the appropriate position, which controls the air outlet modes.
HINT
Confirm that no mechanical problem is present because this diagnostic code can be output when either a damper link or damper is mechanically locked.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
* If this DTC is output, perform the following procedures before beginning the INSPECTION PROCEDURE.
(1) Change the air outlet mode position for the rear LH and RH seats to "FOOT".
(2) Turn the engine switch off, and wait approximately 90 seconds.
(3) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(4) Clear DTCs DTC Check / Clear.
(5) With the air outlet mode position for the rear LH and RH seats on "FOOT", wait approximately 45 seconds.
(6) Check for DTCs DTC Check / Clear. If this DTC is not output, there is no malfunction. If this DTC is output, perform the INSPECTION PROCEDURE below.
PROCEDURE
1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (REAR AIR OUTLET SERVO MOTOR TARGET PULSE (for LH Side))
(a) Use the Data List to check if the servo motor is functioning properly.
Air Conditioner
OK:
The display is as specified in the normal condition.
Result
C -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER Removal
B -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER)
(a) Disconnect the S28 rear air conditioning harness connector.
(b) Disconnect the L76 air conditioning amplifier connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. REPLACE REAR AIR OUTLET SERVO MOTOR (for LH Side)
HINT
Since the servo motor cannot be inspected while it is removed from the vehicle, replace the servo motor with a normal one and check that the condition returns to normal Disassembly.
OK:
Same problem does not occur.
NG -- REPLACE REAR AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS Disassembly
OK -- END
