Cylinder Head Assembly

Cylinder Head Sub-Assembly LH
Step 1: Install and uniformly tighten the 10 cylinder head bolts with the plate washers in several steps in the sequence shown in the illustration

Torque 36 Nm (367 kgf-cm, 27 ft-lbf)

Left Hand Cylinder Head:

Step 2:
Tighten cylinder head bolts 90°
Step 3:
Tighten cylinder head bolts an additional 90°

Install and uniformly tighten the 2 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration

Left Hand:

Torque 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)

Cylinder Head Sub-Assembly RH

Install the cylinder head bolts
Step 1: Install and uniformly tighten the 10 cylinder head bolts with the plate washers in several steps in the sequence shown in the illustration

Right Hand Cylinder Head:

Torque 36 Nm (367 kgf-cm, 27 ft-lbf)

Step 2:
Tighten cylinder head bolts 90°
Step 3:
Tighten cylinder head bolts an additional 90°

Install and uniformly tighten the 2 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration

Right Hand:

Torque 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)

Cylinder Head Set Bolt








Standard length: 141.3 to 142.7 mm (5.56 to 5.62 in.)
Maximum length: 143.7 mm (5.66 in.)
If the length is more than the maximum, replace the cylinder head set bolt

Distance:





Standard diameter: 10.85 to 11.00 mm (0.427 to 0.433 in.)
Minimum diameter: 10.60 mm (0.417 in.)
If the diameter is less than the minimum, replace the cylinder head set bolt

LH & RH Exhaust Manifold
Maximum warpage: 0.7 mm (0.0276 in.)
If the warpage is more than the maximum, replace the exhaust manifold assembly LH and RH

Cylinder Head Warpage
Cylinder Block Side Standard 0.05 mm (0.00197 in.)
Intake Manifold Side Standard 0.08 mm (0.00315 in.)
Exhaust Manifold Side Standard 0.05 mm (0.00197 in.)
Maximum Warpage 0.10 mm (0.00394 in.)

If the warpage is more than the maximum, replace the cylinder head assembly.

Camshaft Bearing Cap LH
Temporarily install the 10 bolts in the order shown in the illustration

Left Hand:

Camshaft Housing Sub-Assembly LH
Install the camshaft housing, and then install the 18 bolts in the order shown in the illustration

for bolt A - Torque 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
except bolt A - Torque 30 Nm (306 kgf-cm, 22 ft-lbf)

LH:

Tighten the 10 bolts in the order shown in the illustration
Torque 16 Nm (163 kgf-cm, 12 ft-lbf)





Camshaft Bearing Cap RH
Temporarily install the 10 bolts in the order shown in the illustration

Right Hand:

Camshaft Housing Sub-Assembly RH
Install the camshaft housing, and then install the 18 bolts in the order shown in the illustration

for bolt A - Torque 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
except bolt A - Torque 30 Nm (306 kgf-cm, 22 ft-lbf)

RH:

Tighten the 10 bolts in the order shown in the illustration
Torque 16 Nm (163 kgf-cm, 12 ft-lbf)
