Captain's Chair Seat Back

DISASSEMBLY
1. Disassemble the front captain's chair.







2. Unwrap the armrest cover to access the armrest bolt.







3. Remove the armrest bolt and spring washer.







4. Unfasten the front seat back trim cover J-clip.
5. Pull the cover away from the hook and loop attachments.

CAUTION: Use care when separating the seat back trim cover from the hook and loop strips, or the hook and loop strips may be torn from the seat back foam.







6. Remove the headrest.
^ Insert a pin into the hole to release the rod on both sides.
7. Remove the front seat back cover.
^ If equipped, remove the headrest guide sleeves.







8. Remove the front seat back from the front seat back frame.







9. If equipped, and if necessary, remove the seat back heating element.

CAUTION: Any time the seat back heating element is removed from the seat back foam, the foam must be replaced.







10. Remove the lumbar support adjusting cable ties.







11. Remove the lumbar support adjusting cable.
1. Flex the lumbar support.
2. unhook the lumbar support adjusting cable from the lumbar support.
3. Unhook the lumbar support adjusting cable from the positioning bracket.
4. Remove the lumbar support adjusting cable.







12. Remove the lumbar support adjusting cable positioning bracket.







13. Remove the lumbar support.
1. Release the clips.
2. Remove the lumbar support.







14. Remove the outboard front seat adjuster.
1. Remove the bolts.
2. Remove the outboard front seat adjuster.

ASSEMBLY







1. Install the outboard front seat adjuster.
1. Position the outboard front seat adjuster.
2. Install the bolts.







2. Install the lumbar support.
1. Position the lumbar support.
2. Connect the clips.







3. Install the lumbar support adjusting cable positioning bracket.







4. Install the lumbar support adjusting cable.
1. Connect the lumbar support adjusting cable to the positioning bracket.
2. Flex the lumbar support.
3. Hook the lumbar support adjusting cable to the lumbar support.







5. Install the lumbar support adjusting cable ties.







6. If equipped, connect the seat back heating element to the upper section of the seat back foam.
1. Install commercially available double-sided tape.
2. Align and connect the element to the tape.







7. If equipped, position the seat back heating element into the recess in be seat back foam.







8. If equipped, connect the seat back heating element to the center section of the seat back foam.
1. Install commercially available double-sided tape.
2. Connect the element to the tape.







9. If equipped, position the seat back heating element into the recess in the seat back foam.







10. If equipped, connect the seat back heating element to the bottom section of the seat back foam.
1. Install commercially available double-sided tape.
2. Connect the element to the tape.







11. Insert the front seat back frame into the front seat back foam.
12. Position the front seat back trim cover and connect the hook and loop strips.
13. On low back bucket seats, install the headrest guide sleeves with the pin holes toward the center of the seat.







14. Install the headrest.







15. Fasten the front seat back trim cover clip.







16. Feed the lumbar support gear and the seat back heating element through the seat cushion opening and push the seat back frame onto the front seat hinge.

NOTE: Inspect the seat back pivot bushing and replace if damaged.







17. Position the armrest and install the bolt.
