Without Air Suspension

CAUTION: Do not hold the steering wheel at the stops for an extended amount of time. Damage to the power steering pump will result.

NOTE: Make the following preliminary checks before repairing the steering system. Label all hoses prior to removal.

1. Verify the customer concern.
2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.

3. If the inspection reveals obvious concern(s) that can be readily identified, repair as necessary.
4. If the concern remains after the inspection, use Super STAR II Tester to retrieve diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
1 Connect Super STAR II tester to the EVO diagnostic connector C292.
2 Run the Manual Test.
3 Retrieve the DTCs. Use Super STAR II Tester to run Function Test 21.
4 Refer to DTC Chart-Without Air Suspension for the correct Pinpoint Test. Pinpoint Tests
5. If no DTCs are retrieved, go to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
