Parking Aid

Parking Aid

The parking aid system consists of the following:

- Parking aid sensors (located in the rear bumper cover)
- Parking Aid Module (PAM) (located in the passenger C-pillar, behind the trim panel)
- Parking aid speaker (mounted to the PAM)
- Parking aid disable feature (integral to the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) message center)
- Parking aid disable feature is not available when a MyKey(TM) is in use

The parking aid system calculates the distance to an object around the rear of the vehicle by the use of 4 ultrasonic sensors. The parking aid system sounds a warning to alert the driver of stationary objects near the rear bumper when REVERSE (R) is selected.

The rear sensors are activated at all times when REVERSE (R) is selected. The parking aid system assists the driver in detecting certain objects while the vehicle moves slowly in reverse at speeds less than 4.8 km/h (3 mph). The parking aid system may not detect moving objects.

Video (if equipped)

The rear video camera system consists of the following:

- Video camera (located in the liftgate rear lamp assembly)
- Front Display Interface Module (FDIM)

The video camera is activated when REVERSE (R) is selected. The image from the video camera is displayed in the FDIM. The displayed video image is horizontally inverted from that viewed from the video camera perspective to mimic a conventional mirror image.
