Distributor - Exploded View:
1. Remove distributor cap and rotor, Fig. 10. Position crankshaft as outlined in Distributor Rotor, Replace. The alignment slot in the adapter should be aligned with the alignment slot in the sleeve assembly.
2. Remove distributor hold-down bolt and clamp.
3. Carefully remove distributor from engine block, noting position of the large slot in the sleeve in relation to the adapter alignment slot as distributor drive gear is felt to disengage with cam gear. Do not rotate engine after distributor has been removed.
4. Install distributor in engine block. Ensure the distributor hold-down flange slot is aligned with the clamp bolt hole and adapter alignment slot is aligned with the large sleeve alignment slot.
5. Install distributor hold-down bolt and clamp. Torque to 17 ft. lbs.
