ISSUE: Intermittent rough idle, hesitation, or stall at idle may be caused by a broken wire inside the throttle position sensor.

ACTION: To correct this, use the following diagnostic procedure to determine if the throttle position sensor requires replacement. Refer to the throttle position application chart on this page for the correct service part.

1. Perform EEC IV Quick Test.

2. If Service Codes "23" or "63" are present or Service Code "63" is present in continuous memory, install a new throttle position sensor.

NOTE: THROTTLE POSITION SENSORS WITH A DATE CODE OF 8A13B (JANUARY 13, 1988) OR LATER AND A GREEN DOT ARE OKAY.
