ISSUE: False warnings or no warnings indicated on the graphic display module or lamp outage warning system may be caused by a poor connection when installing a wiring relay for the trailer lighting system.

ACTION: When installing a trailer lighting system on any vehicle equipped with graphic display modules or lamp outage warning systems, use the following procedure.

1. Connect taillamp relay to the No. 14 circuit (brown wire) in the main (14401) wiring assembly.

NOTE: Electrical connections cannot be made at the rear taillamp sockets because these indicator systems require resistance wires in the circuit and connections must be made ahead of resistance wires. The required relays may be mounted in any convenient location where they are not susceptible to water contamination.

2. Right and left hand stop and turn relays must be connected to the No. 5 circuit (orange/light blue wire) and the No. 9 circuit (light green/orange wire) respectively in the main (14401) wiring assembly near turn signal switch connector.

NOTE: Indicator system will not monitor trailer lights.
