A/C Recirculation Air Duct and Blower Housing Assembly

REMOVAL
1. Release two retainers which secure glove compartment assembly. Rotate assembly downward to gain access to A/C recirculation air duct assembly.




2. Reaching through glove compartment opening, disconnect vacuum hose from outside-recirculation air door vacuum motor (illustration).
3. Disconnect in-vehicle sensor hose and blower speed controller hose from muffler mounted on recirculation air assembly.
4. Disconnect blower motor power lead at connector.
5. Working beneath instrument panel, remove two screws which secure modesty panel to lower edge of instrument panel.
6. Working through glove compartment opening, remove wire connector bracket (Part No. 14A206) to obtain access to screw in upper LH corner of recirculation duct.
7. Remove screw which retains support brace to top of air inlet duct.
8. Remove three screws which secure duct and heater housing assembly to evaporator case.
9. Move duct and housing assembly down and away from evaporator case.

INSTALLATION
1. Tape blower motor power lead to recirculation duct to prevent it from entering blower outlet during installation.
2. Position duct and housing assembly up and under instrument panel and install the three retaining screws.
3. Install support brace retaining screw.
4. Install wire connector bracket.
5. Install modesty panel.
6. Remove tape and attach blower motor power lead at connector.
7. Attach in-vehicle sensor and blower speed controller hoses to muffler.
8. Attach vacuum hose to vacuum motor.
9. Engage glove compartment retainers and close glove compartment.
