^ WIRING - STRIPPED OR LOOSE GROUND SCREW - HIGH MOUNT STOP LAMP


LINCOLN-MERCURY: 1986-91 MARK VII


ISSUE: An intermittent no start, hard start, stall condition or a high mount stop lamp that does not function may be caused by a stripped or loose ground screw.

ACTION: Inspect for a stripped or loose ground screw. Repair as necessary. Refer to the following procedure for service details.


REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Locate ground screw G300 under the carpet on driver's side of the flattened portion of the rocker panel.

2. Check connection between screw and rocker panel.


3. If screw is stripped or loose, replace screw and install into a nearby, clean location.
