Monitors, Trips, Drive Cycles and Readiness Codes

To properly diagnose and test this system requires the use of Rotunda Star Tester model 007-00004 or Super Star II tester 007-00019 or equivalents. Follow tool manufacturer's instructions for installation and operation of the tool.

On models built after 12/1/90, the suspension module will not erase system fault codes stored in memory when the ignition switch is cycled to the Run position within an hour of turning ignition switch Off. To erase fault codes, turn ignition switch Off and allow vehicle to sit for more than one hour or switch module power Off at trunk mounted suspension system switch.

Fig. 2 Drive Cycle Diagnostic Procedure:

The drive cycle diagnostics will illuminate the ``Ride Control'' warning lamp in the message center when a fault code is detected while driving the vehicle. Up to 32 fault codes will remain stored in memory for one hour after ignition switch is turned Off. The air suspension switch in luggage compartment must remain On. If the vehicle has not been driven in over an hour or the ignition switch has been turned to Run and the air suspension switch has been turned Off, vehicle must be driven to duplicate faults.
