Cruise Control Servo Cable: Service and Repair
EARLY PRODUCTION
1. Remove screw attaching resonator to throttle cable bracket.
2. Remove two hoses from resonator and loosen clamp at throttle body, then pull resonator from throttle body and position out of the way.
3. Remove screw attaching actuator cable to throttle cable bracket.
4. Disconnect actuator cable from throttle cable, then remove two servo to mounting bracket retaining nuts.
5. Remove servo and cable assembly from bracket.
6. Remove two cable housing to servo retaining nuts, then pull housing from servo.
7. Remove cable ball end from servo clip.
8. Remove cable from retaining clips, then pull out from under fuel lines.
9. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque cable housing retaining nuts to 36-53 in lbs.
b. Torque servo to mounting bracket nuts to 45-61 in lbs.
c. Adjust actuator cable as necessary.
d. Ensure cable is routed underneath fuel lines and placed back into retaining clips.
LATE PRODUCTION
1. Remove screw attaching resonator to throttle cable bracket.
2. Remove two hoses from resonator, then loosen clamp at throttle body.
3. Pull resonator from throttle body and position out of the way.
4. Disconnect actuator cable from accelerator cable, then remove actuator cable cap from servo by depressing cap locking arm and rotating cap counterclockwise.
5. Remove cable ball slug from servo pulley by pushing slug from out of pulley slot.
6. Reverse procedure to install, adjust cable as described in ``Adjustments.''
