Transmission Control Systems: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION

The AXODE (AX4S) Transaxle is a electronically controlled four speed automatic transmission. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) uses inputs from various sensors to control the operation of the AXODE (AX4S) Transaxle. The Transmission Control Switch disables operation in fourth gear allowing automatic operation through the first three gears. The AXODE (AX4S) Transaxle has self-test capabilities much like those in other electronic control systems.
