KE18 - Check IAC Circuit For Short to Ground

- Key "OFF".

- Idle Air Control (IAC) solenoid disconnected.

- Disconnect the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires, etc. Service as necessary.

- Install breakout box, leave PCM disconnected.

- Measure resistance between test pin 21 and test pins 40, 46 and 60 at the breakout box.

- Are all resistances greater than 10,000 ohms?

Yes -- Go to KE19. KE19 - Check PCM Output

No -- Service short circuit. Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
