Throttle Body: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Remove throttle body inlet tube.

2. Disconnect fuel charging wiring connectors from throttle position sensor and idle air control valve.

3. Remove four throttle body retaining nuts.

4. Carefully separate throttle body from upper intake manifold and discard throttle body gasket.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: If scraping is necessary be careful not to damage gasket surfaces or allow material to drop into intake manifold.

1. Clean gasket mating surfaces.

NOTE: If scraping is necessary be careful not to damage gasket surfaces or allow material to drop into intake manifold.

2. Install throttle body with new gasket on the four studs of the upper~intake manifold. Tighten retaining nuts to 20-30 Nm (15-22 lb ft).

3. Connect fuel charging wiring to throttle position sensor and idle air control valve.

4. Install throttle body inlet tube.
