Suspension Control ( Automatic - Electronic ): Description and Operation

The air suspension system incorporates air leveling and dual ride control into one suspension system. Air leveling maintains the vehicle at the proper level under varying operating conditions. Dual damping ride control switches the shock absorbers between soft and firm.

The air suspension system includes the following major components:
1. An air compressor to supply air to the air springs.
2. Variable rate air springs which are integral with the shock absorber struts at each corner of the vehicle.
3. Three rotary height sensors: One rear and two front height sensors to maintain the vehicle at the proper ride height.
4. Dual damping front and rear shock absorber struts with externally mounted actuators/drivers.
