FORD:
1995 CROWN VICTORIA

LINCOLN-MERCURY:
1995 GRAND MARQUIS, TOWN CAR

ISSUE:
Some vehicles may have Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) 115 and/or 125 stored in the climate control EATC memory which could show up during module self test on vehicles with EATC software, level C05120C42D16. These could be false codes which may have been set during the vehicle manufacturing process or when the ignition is cycled slowly.

ACTION:
Refer to the following procedure for service details.

1. Enter the EATC self test mode by pressing the "OFF" and "FLOOR" buttons together and, within 2 seconds, press the "AUTO" button.

2. If DTC 115 and/or 125 appear, proceed to Step 3.

3. Exit the self test by pressing the "BLUE" button.

4. Determine the level of software by pressing the "OFF" and "FLOOR" buttons together and, within 2 seconds, press the "MAX A/C" button.

5. The software level will be shown on the display.

6. If the software level displayed is C05120C42D16, re-enter the self test and then exit the self test by depressing the "DEFROST" button. This will clear all DTC's from EATC memory.

7. Re-entering the self test at this point will give valid codes which may be diagnosed according to the procedures given in the appropriate Service Manual.

8. If the software level is other than C05120C42D16, the DTC's displayed are valid and should be diagnosed according to the procedures given in the appropriate Service Manual.
