Pinpoint Test C: DTC Failure On Circuit 70 (LB/W)

NOTE: Pinpoint Test B in Air Bag System MUST be performed prior to Pinpoint Test C. Testing and Inspection

C1 Check Circuit 70 (LB/W) In 14B242 Harness
- Disconnect Connector C7 (84-Way) from harness 14A488 and harness 14B242.
- Measure resistance of Circuit 70 (LB/W) between Connector C7 and Pin 7 of DLC connector.

Is resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes
GO to C2
No
Service Circuit 70 (LB/W) for open between connector C7 and DLC connector. REPEAT On-Demand Self Test. REFER to Air Bag system to service remaining DTC's. Testing and Inspection

C2 Check Circuit 70 (LB/W) In 14B242 Harness FOR SHORT TO B+
- Turn ignition switch to RUN.
- Measure voltage between DLC connector Pin C7, Circuit 70 (LB/W) and DLC connector Pin 4, Circuit 57 (BK).

Is voltage greater than 0 volt?
Yes
Service Circuit 70 (LB/W) for short to B+. Repeat On-Demand Self Test. Refer to Air Bag system to service remaining DTC's. Testing and Inspection
No
GO to C3.

C3 Check Circuit 70 (LB/W) In 14A488 Harness FOR OPEN. Refer to Air Bag system and perform deactivation procedure. Testing and Inspection
- Disconnect integrated air bag module (IABM) connector 03.
- Measure resistance between integrated air bag module (IABM) connector Pin 02-12 and connector C7 of harness 14A488.

Is resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes
GO to C4
No
Service Circuit 70 (LB/W) for open between connector C7 and IABM connector. Reactivate air bags as outlined in Air Bag system REPEAT On-Demand Self Test. REFER to Air Bag system to service remaining DTC's. Testing and Inspection

C4 Check Circuit 70 (LB/W) In 14A488 Harness FOR SHORT TO B+
- Measure voltage on Circuit 70 (LB/W) between integrated air bag monitor (IABM) Connector Pin C2-12 and Harness 14A488 Connector C7.

Is voltage greater than 0 volt?
Yes
Service Circuit 70 (LB/W) for short to B+ between connector C7 and IABM connector. Reactivate air bags as outlined in Air Bag system. REPEAT On-Demand Self Test. REFER to Air Bag system to service remaining DTC's. Testing and Inspection
No
Multiplex Communication Network (MCN) link between DLC and IABM is OK. Reconnect connector C7. Replace IABM. REPEAT On Demand Self Test. REFER to Air Bag system to service remaining DTC's. Testing and Inspection
