Courtesy Lamp: Description and Operation

Courtesy lamps illuminate when any door is opened or when the instrument panel lamp dimmer control is in the detented UP position. The theater lighting feature gradually increases or decreases courtesy lamp intensity when any door is opened and closed. The courtesy lamps are controlled by the steering column/ignition/lighting (SCIL) control module, Courtesy lamps include:
- driver and passenger door courtesy lamps.
- dome/map combination lamp.
- courtesy reading lamp.
