Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

1. Verify the customer's concern by operating the horn system to duplicate the condition.
2. Inspect to determine if one of the following mechanical or electrical concerns apply:

VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

Mechanical
- Verify that the horn retaining bolt is tight.
- Verify that the horns are not touching surrounding sheet metal or other.

Electrical
- Check the power distribution box fuse 8 (20 A).
- Check the wiring for obvious short or opens.
- Check the connectors for obvious damage.

3. If the inspection reveals obvious concerns that can be readily identified, service as required.
4. If the concerns remain after the inspection, determine the condition and go to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
