Upper and Lower Radiator Hoses

REMOVAL:

WARNING: SCALDING HOT COOLANT, WATER OR STEAM
NEVER remove the pressure relief cap under any conditions while the engine is operating. Failure to follow these instruction could result in DAMAGE to the cooling system or engine AND/OR personal injury. To avoid having scalding hot coolant or steam blow out of the cooling system or reservoir, use extreme care when removing the pressure relief cap from a hot cooling system or reservoir.
1. Wait until the engine has cooled.
2. Wrap a thick cloth around the pressure relief cap and turn it slowly (until the pressure begins to release.
3. Step back while the pressure is released from the cooling system.
4. When you are certain all the pressure has been released, (still with a cloth) turn and remove pressure relief cap.

COOLING FAN OPERATION HAZARD
To avoid the possibility of personal injury or damage to the vehicle, do not operate the engine with the hood open until the fan has first been examined for possible cracks and separation.

1. Drain the engine cooling system.
2. Radiator hoses should be replaced whenever they become cracked, rotted or have a tendency to collapse.
1 Release upper clamp and position away from radiator.
2 Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the radiator.
3. Disconnect the lower radiator hose from the radiator.





4. Remove the upper radiator hose and the water bypass hose from the water bypass tube (8548).





5. Remove four hoses from the hot water heater elbow connection and the water hose connection.
- Remove the water bypass hose.
- Remove the radiator overflow hose.
- Remove the engine coolant hose from both ends.
- Remove the lower radiator hose.





6. Remove the radiator overflow hose.

INSTALLATION:

CAUTION: Make sure the clamps are beyond the bead and placed in the center of the clamping surface of the connections or potential damage to the vehicle may occur.





1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
2. Fill the radiator coolant.
