Brake On/Off (BOO Switch)

DESCRIPTION
The brake On/Off (BOO) switch tells the powertrain control module (PCM) when the brakes are applied. The torque converter clutch disengages when the brakes are applied. The BOO switch closes when the brakes are applied and opens when they are released.

SYMPTOMS
- Failed ON- torque converter clutch will not engage at less than one-third throttle.
- Failed OFF or not connected- torque converter clutch will not disengage when brake is applied.
