Removal and Installation

REMOVAL







1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.







2. Disconnect the battery to starter relay cable.







3. Remove the battery heat shield.







4. Remove the battery hold down clamp.







5. Remove battery.

WARNING: WHEN LIFTING A BATTERY, EXCESSIVE PRESSURE ON THE END WALLS COULD CAUSE ACID TO LEAK OUT THROUGH THE VENT CAPS, RESULTING IN PERSONAL INJURY, DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE OR THE BATTERY.

INSTALLATION







1. Position the battery on the battery tray and install the battery hold down clamp.







2. Install the battery heat shield.







3. Connect battery to starter relay cable.







4. Connect battery ground cable.

NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns it's adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to learn the strategy.
