Alternator: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube assembly.
3. Remove the radiator shroud and cooling fan.
4. Remove the accessory drive belt.
5. Remove the lower generator bracket bolts.
6. Disconnect the harness ignition pin-type retainer.
7. Remove the front generator bolts and the generator.
8. Disconnect the generator electrical connections.
1. Remove the generator B+ nut and washer assembly.
2. Disconnect the generator stator connector.
3. Disconnect the generator voltage regulator connector.
INSTALLATION
1. Connect the generator electrical connections.
1. Connect the generator B+ cable.
2. Install the generator B+ nut and washer assembly.
3. Connect the generator electrical connectors.
2. Install the generator.
1. Position the generator.
2. Install the front generator bolts.
3. Install the generator bracket bolts finger tight, then tighten to specification.
4. Connect the harness pin-type retainer.
5. Install the accessory drive belt.
6. Install the radiator shroud and cooling fan.
7. Install the air cleaner outlet tube assembly.
8. Connect the battery.
