Alternator: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery. For additional information, refer to Battery.
2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube assembly. For additional information, refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.
3. Remove the radiator shroud and cooling fan. For additional information, refer to Cooling System.
4. Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories.







5. Remove the lower generator bracket bolts.







6. Disconnect the harness pin-type retainer.







7. Remove the front generator bolts and the generator.







8. Disconnect the generator electrical connectors.
1 Remove the generator B+ nut and washer assembly.
2 Disconnect the generator stator connector.
3 Disconnect the generator voltage regulator connector.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
