Oil Pan: Service and Repair

Removal

1. Remove the air cleaner resonator and outlet tube.
2. Remove the wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft assembly.






3. Remove the RH cowl extension.
1. Remove the pin-type retainers.
2. Remove the bolts.
3. Remove the nuts.
4. Remove the extension.






4. Remove the LH cowl extension.
1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
2. Remove the bolts.
3. Remove the extension.
5. Remove the fan motor and shroud assembly.
6. Disconnect the fuel lines spring lock couplings.
7. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) tube.
8. Remove the generator.
9. Remove the blower motor speed control.
10. Raise the vehicle.
11. Drain the engine oil. Install the drain plug when finished.






12. Remove the RH engine mount bolt.






13. Remove the two LH engine mount bolts.






14. Remove the two LH nuts and support the exhaust.






15. Remove the bolt for the transmission line support bracket.






16. Loosen the nuts for the transmission mount.
17. Lower the vehicle.

NOTE: The RH motor mount has a second bolt accessed from the top.






18. Remove the bolt.






19. Using the special tool, raise the engine with a suitable floor crane.






20. Using the special tools, support the engine.
21. Raise the vehicle.






22. Remove the oil pan bolts.






23. Position the oil pan aside and remove the bolts from the oil pickup tube.






24. Remove the bolt from the oil pick-up tube bracket and remove the oil pick-up tube from the engine.






25. Remove the oil pump tube spacer.






26. Remove the O-ring and inspect.
27. Remove the oil pan and gasket from the vehicle through the front.

Installation

1. Position the oil pan and gasket on the vehicle.






2. Install the O-ring, using a new one if necessary.






3. Install the oil pump tube spacer.






4. Position the oil pickup tube, install and tighten the bolts.






5. Position the oil pan gasket and oil pan, install and tighten the bolts.
6. Lower the vehicle.






7. Using the special tool, and a suitable floor crane, raise the engine and remove the special tool.






8. Remove the special tools.






9. Install and tighten the upper RH engine mount bolt.
10. Raise the vehicle.






11. Install and tighten the engine mount bolts.






12. Install the RH engine mount bolt.






13. Tighten the nuts.






14. Install and tighten the bolt.






15. Reposition the exhaust and tighten the left side nuts.
16. Lower the vehicle.
17. Install the blower motor speed control.
18. Install the generator.
19. Install the EGR tube.
20. Connect the fuel line spring lock couplings.
21. Install the air cleaner resonator and outlet tube.






22. Install the LH cowl extension and connect the electrical connector.






23. Install the RH cowl extension.
1. Install the extension.
2. Install the pin-type retainers.
3. Install the nuts and the bolts.
24. Install the wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft assembly.
25. Install the fan motor and shroud assembly.
26. Fill the engine with engine oil.
