Information and Message Center






The message center display is a green vacuum fluorescent, fixed format display. The message center is split up into two displays integrated within the right and left sides of the Hybrid Electronic Instrument Cluster (HEC).
Both displays will fully illuminate all segments for several seconds when the ignition switch is first turned on.

The right side message center displays:
- fuel computer / trip odometer information, e.g. FUEL ECON AVG, FUEL REMAIN, DIST TO EMPTY, AVG SPEED, TRIP A B, and E/M (English/metric).
- low WASHER fluid level. WASHER is displayed if the windshield washer fluid is low causing the switch to ground the circuit.

The left side message center displays:
- AIR SUSPENSION
- CIRCLE SLOWLY
- compass
- DOOR AJAR
- odometer
- TRAC OFF
- TRAC ACTIVE
- TRUNK AJAR
- 0/DOFF
- SPEED CONTROL

The message center switch module has two buttons, SELECT and RESET. They are used to display the functions on the fuel computer.

The SELECT switch will scroll through the following displays:
- Average and instant fuel economy.
- Fuel remaining.
- Distance to empty.
- Average speed.
- Trip A/B.
- English/Metric.

The RESET switch will control the following functions:
- Fuel economy.
- Trip A.
- Trip B.
- English/Metric.
- Average speed.

The status messages displayed by the left message center are:
- Trunk ajar.
- Door ajar.
- Trac off.
- Air suspension.
- 0/D off.
- Trac active.
- Speed control.
