Torque Specifications
Cylinder Head Torque Specifications and SequenceCAUTION: Cylinder head bolts must be replaced with new bolts. They are tighten-to-yield designed and cannot be reused.
RH Side
Install the bolts and tighten in sequence in six steps:
^ Step 1: Tighten to 37 - 43 Nm (28 - 31 ft. lbs.).
^ Step 2: Tighten an additional 85 - 95 degrees.
^ Step 3: Loosen the bolts a minimum of one full turn (360 degrees).
^ Step 4: Tighten to 37 - 43 Nm (28 - 31 ft. lbs.).
^ Step 5: Tighten an additional 85 - 95 degrees.
^ Step 6: Tighten an additional 85 - 95 degrees.
LH Side
Install ten bolts and tighten in sequence in six stages:
^ Stage 1: Tighten to 37 - 43 Nm (28 - 31 ft. lbs.).
^ Stage 2: Tighten an additional 85 - 95 degrees.
^ Stage 3: Loosen the bolts a minimum of one full turn (360 degrees).
^ Stage 4: Tighten to 37 - 43 Nm (28 - 31 ft. lbs.).
^ Stage 5: Tighten an additional 85 - 95 degrees.
^ Stage 6: Tighten an additional 85 - 95 degrees.
Camshaft Bearing Cap Bolts
Tighten in sequence to 8-12 Nm (71.4-107.1 in/lb).
Camshaft Sprocket
Install the camshaft sprocket spacer.
1. Position the camshaft sprocket and sprocket spacer.
2. Install the bolt. Tighten to 110-130 Nm (81-95 ft/lb).
Intake Manifold
Tighten in sequence to 20-30 Nm (15-22 lb/ft).
Exhaust Manifold
Tighten in sequence to 23-27 Nm (17-20 lb/ft).
